The pictures below were taken 15 minutes from our house
another magical day of boating!  Notice, no boat traffic.

The beautiful Okanagan Lake is approxmately 135Km long and ranges
from 2 and 5Km wide. Summer water temperatures are 25 degrees Celsius
(79 fahrenheit), although it seems much warmer closer to the shoreline.

The shores of Okanagan Lake range from sandy beaches to pebbles and rocks
and cliffs especially on the Okanagan Mountain Park side of the lake.
So if your planning on taking your boat ashore I wouldn’t recommend
it unless you go slow or drop an anchor

The lake is perfect for swimming and snorkeling both at local beaches
and along Okanagan Mountain Park.

Okanagan Lake is also very popular for power boats, sailboats and jet skies.

If your planning on fishing Okanagan Lake you'll find both rainbow trout which I’ve seen caught  up to 20lbs and Kokanee Salmon only if they are open.
You'll need to check your fishing guide and regulations before dropping any lines.

Along the shoreline you'll find many bays and coves such as: half moon bay near peachland
and Commando Bay and Beckys Cove south on Okanagan Lake Mountain Park side about 15 minutes by boat.   These very private coves are awesome for snorkeling, swimming or just plain floating!!!!!

Oh yes, don't forget to keep an eye open for our legendary Ogopogo.  Our famous lake
monster was first spotted in 1872 to recent sightings.
